Ms. Rabia is the founder and the key driving force behind FundShop. She started the firm after having spent 11 years in the financial sectors in Pakistan and the UAE with experience in Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Asset Management and Teaching.
Having attended the top schools in Pakistan, including Convent of Jesus & Mary, Kinnaird College for Women, and University of the Punjab, she graduated with the MBA class of 2001 from LUMS, one of the top business schools in the region. In 2014, she was awarded the CFA Charter from the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute, which conducts the CFA Program, the globally recognized qualification for Investment Advisors. She also became the first woman member of the Institute of Capital Markets, Karachi, from where she has successfully obtained the Certified Mutual Funds Distributor as well as Certitifed Stock Broker qualifications.
Rabia has participated in numerous training courses and is a regular participant of financial industry events. She is a regular attendee of the Pakistan IPO Summit, organized by the South Asian Federation of Exchanges as well as the annual CFOs conferences organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. In 2010, she participated in the “Private Wealth Management – Asia and Beyond” conference, Singapore, organized by the CFA Institute and the Government of Singapore. She has also attended a large number of training courses including team building, leadership and entrepreneurship skills as well as credit analysis, treasury operations, and capital market courses. She also attended a training program on detection of money laundering practices held by the Central Bank of the UAE, Abu Dhabi.
Rabia is a Certified Trainer of the Institute of Capital Markets, Karachi and has conducted training programs for the Wealth Management Division of Bank Alfalah Limited. She was also invited as a Technical Speaker at the Seminar on Investors' Education Program conducted by the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan. She is also frequently invited at her alma mater, LUMs, as guest speaker at the Suleman Dawood School of Business and women development programs at the Rausing Executive Development Center
